Where do you teach?
KiDI aligns its activities to each country's official early-years and primary curriculum. The UK is live; France and Peru open in their own language. The other systems below are in preparation and can't be selected yet.

Which year group is this?
England's system, from the first year of school to the end of primary. KiDI is live for Year 1 (Key Stage 1, ages 5โ6, the first statutory year of phonics and the Phonics Screening Check). The other years unlock as their activity sets are validated with partner schools.

Year 1 curriculum โ what you have to cover this year
A working digest of the statutory Key Stage 1 programmes of study for Year 1: the subjects, the main themes, and the end-of-year expectations. Use it to plan; it doesn't replace the National Curriculum text itself.
๐ English & language
- Spoken language: listen and respond, ask relevant questions, articulate and justify answers, take part in discussion, perform rhymes and poems.
- Word reading โ phonics: systematic synthetic phonics, GPCs, blending to decode, common exception words; read aloud accurately from books matched to phonic knowledge. Phonics Screening Check at the end of Year 1.
- Reading comprehension: develop pleasure in reading, listen to and discuss stories and poems, retell familiar tales, predict and link to experience.
- Writing: spell with taught GPCs and common exception words, correct letter formation, compose and sequence sentences; capital letters, full stops, question and exclamation marks, joining with "and", plural -s, suffixes un- / -ing / -ed.
๐ข Mathematics
- Number & place value: count to and across 100 forwards and backwards, count in 2s, 5s and 10s, read and write numbers to 20 in numerals and words, one more / one less, equal to, more than, less than.
- Addition & subtraction: read and write +, โ, = ; number bonds and related facts within 20; add and subtract to 20; solve one-step problems, including missing numbers.
- Multiplication, division & fractions: one-step problems with concrete objects, arrays and grouping / sharing; recognise and find half and quarter of a shape, object or quantity.
- Measurement, shape & position: compare and measure length, mass, capacity and time; recognise coins and notes; tell the time to the hour and half past; name common 2-D and 3-D shapes; describe position, direction and turns.
๐ Science
- Plants: identify and name common wild and garden plants, deciduous and evergreen trees; name the basic structure of a plant.
- Animals, including humans: identify and name common animals; carnivore / herbivore / omnivore; name body parts and link them to the five senses.
- Everyday materials: distinguish an object from the material it is made of; name and describe wood, plastic, glass, metal, water, rock; sort by simple properties.
- Seasonal changes & working scientifically: observe weather and day length across the four seasons; ask questions, observe closely, gather and record data.

- Art & design, D&T, music: use materials and techniques; design, make and evaluate a simple product; use the voice, play tuned and untuned instruments, listen with attention.
- Computing: understand what algorithms are, create and debug simple programs, use technology purposefully and safely, keep personal information private.
- History & geography: changes within living memory, significant individuals and events; the local area, the four countries and capitals of the UK, daily weather patterns.
- PE, RE & PSHE / Relationships: fundamental movement skills, team games and dance; the locally agreed RE syllabus; feelings, healthy relationships, keeping safe.

Publishing sends this set to all 22 linked Year 1 ยท Blue Class devices. Pupils see the new selection at their next session. You can change the selection or unpublish at any time โ nothing is locked to a child's device.

Each child now opens KiDI on the set you chose. The app still adapts difficulty and pace per pupil, and never generates an answer for them โ the retrieval effort stays with the child.
